Al-Tahoe is a very special neighborhood.  It is right on the Lake in the middle of South Lake Tahoe.  It is separated from all the other neighborhoods by Highway 50 and the city’s recreation park.  It has a very historic feel.  There are countless cabins dating back past the fifties.  Many of these have been modernized inside, while maintaining  there historic veneer on the exterior.  The oldest cabins that can’t be restored have been replaced with gorgeous Tahoe homes.   Although the parcels are small 5-7000 square feet, the area does not feel congested or over built.

Al-Tahoe is ringed by the world famous Truckee Marsh.  Trails enter this nature reserve from many points giving locals great access to Tahoe’s wildlife and the lake.  It is common to see people walking the many hiking trails in the area.  The neighborhood shops on Highway 50 at the entrance to the neighborhood are very convenient.  Locals can ride bikes for coffee or health food and pick up movies or groceries on the way home.

Al-Tahoe is a unique area in the range of prices for homes as well.
